Anna Shephard, Managing Director, went back to school last week, attending assembly at Heathfield Community College. Anna presented a Year 10 student, Ben Hopwood, with a £50 Amazon gift voucher after correctly completing a ductwork pricing exercise, whilst attending the Big Futures show at the Winter Gardens, Eastbourne.
E&S Heating and Ventilation exhibited at the Big Futures show (www.bigfuturesshow.org.uk) along with over 100 other businesses, organisations and Higher Education establishments – meeting with students to spark their interest in future career and training opportunities.
Anna, a former pupil of Heathfield Community College, said:
It was a pleasure to talk to students from all over East Sussex to find out more about their career aspirations and route they plan to take to achieve them. We enjoyed taking time to explain the opportunities we have available in the areas of engineering and construction. Ben did a fantastic job pricing the ductwork and we hope he enjoys his prize!
Caroline Barlow, Head of School at Heathfield Community College, added:
We are delighted with the interest shown by E&S Heating and Ventilation to engage with our students, we were especially excited to learn that one of our students had subsequently won a prize. It is really important that all students are fully equipped to make choices about their futures by speaking to as many different employers and training providers as possible; it is a real bonus to have companies that understand this and are able to engage so well with our students. The Big Futures show is an important part of allowing students and schools to make the connections that will support our young people as they move from education into employment, we are hugely grateful to all involved.
